AND, UH, I'VE HAD ONE TENANT THERE, WELL, MY DAD DID BEFORE, AND MY GRANDMOTHER BEFORE, UH, HIM, IT'S A LEGACY PROP PROPERTY THAT HE ACTUALLY PLANNED ON HANDING DOWN TO ME AND MY KIDS.
AND THAT I WAS PLANNING TO HAND IT DOWN TO MY KIDS AS WELL.

AND IT'S THE SAME AS THE INITIAL OFFER, WHICH IS REALLY JUST THE LAND VALUE.
AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIKE, HOW MUCH I WAS PLANNING ON MAKING OVER THE YEARS AND NOT EVEN OVER A COUPLE YEARS REALLY.
AND, UH, I SPENT THE LAST FIVE YEARS OF MY LIFE WORKING ON IT.
AND I THINK THEY MAY HAVE LIED TO THE MONTICELLO PARK, UH, NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T THINK I HAD ANY TENANTS AND THAT, UH, AND THEY JUST SAID, GO AHEAD AND DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO CLEAN UP THE AREA.
WHICH I THINK THEY HAD ALSO TOLD HER TO REPORT ME FOR THE TRASH ON THE YARD, WHICH WAS ACTUALLY CAUSED BY THE VIA STATION.
AND MY TENANT OF 30 YEARS COULD TESTIFY TO THAT, THAT, UH,

IT WASN'T LIKE THAT AT ALL BEFORE THIS VIA STOP WAS THERE.UM, IT'S, I DON'T WANNA LOSE THE BUILDING AT ALL.
I WANT, I WANT TO CONTINUE DOING WHAT I WAS GONNA DO, WHAT I SPENT THE LAST FIVE YEARS DOING.
UH, I WAS GONNA GO BACK TO BEING A LIBRARIAN, BUT IF I HAVE TO START ALL OVER, THEN I'LL HAVE TO, YOU KNOW, GET THREE NEW RENTALS AND, AND BASICALLY START LIKE I DID FIVE YEARS AGO.
SO, UM, UH, BUT IT WAS, IT IS A HUNDRED YEAR OLD BUILDING TOO.
AND I THINK THAT THEY HAD TROUBLE BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO TEAR IT DOWN BEFORE IN 19, UH, WELL IT WAS 1996.
THEY BECAME A HUNDRED YEAR OLD BUILDING.
THERE WAS A PARADE AND EVERYTHING AND, UM, AND, UH, THEY COULDN'T TAKE IT, BUT THEY TOOK SOME OF THE LAND FOR THE LARGER VIA STOP, WHICH IS KIND OF OBSCURING MY BUILDING NOW, BUT IT'S STILL A REALLY UNIQUE SPOT, UM, AS MY TENANT PUT IT.
AND BASICALLY THEY WOULD BE DRIVING HER OUTTA BUSINESS.
THEY WOULD BE ENDING HER LIVELIHOOD BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T FIND ANOTHER, UH, MY, MY STEPMOM ASKED ME TO GRANDFATHER HER IN AT, AT THE CURRENT RENT THAT SHE WAS PAYING.
AND THAT'S WHAT I WAS PLANNING ON TO DO.
AND I DON'T THINK SHE COULD FIND ANOTHER PLACE IN A SUCH UNIQUE POSITION LIKE THIS, ESPECIALLY WITH ALL OF HER CLIENTS FROM THE PAST 30 YEARS, UM, WITHOUT, UH, I MEAN WITHOUT PAYING A LOT MORE ACTUALLY.
AND SHE SAID IT TOOK HER THREE YEARS TO EVEN, UH, BREAK EVEN WHEN SHE WAS AT THAT PROPERTY.
AND SHE THOUGHT BECAUSE IT WAS HISTORICAL PROPERTY THAT THEY COULDN'T TEAR DOWN THAT SHE WOULD BE SAFE THERE.
SO SHE NEVER BOUGHT ANOTHER BUILDING OF HER OWN OR ANYTHING.
SHE JUST STAYED THERE BECAUSE IT WAS, YOU KNOW, CHEAP RENT.
AND, UH, NOW I HAVE ANOTHER CLIENT, UH, ANOTHER TENANT IN THERE AND I WAS GONNA HAVE ANOTHER TENANT IN IN JANUARY, BUT THAT KIND OF STOPPED THIS WHOLE BUSINESS AND NOW I'M JUST BREAKING EVEN ON IT.
BUT I PRETTY AND CLEAR AND THEY'RE JUST STEALING IT FROM ME.

ALIGNING WITH OUR ORGANIZATION PILLARS, WE ARE PROVIDING FREQUENT AND CONSISTENT SERVICE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS.
IMPROVEMENT ON THE ROUTES WILL GIVE THE COMMUNITIES ACCESS TO MORE GROCERS, PHARMACIES, AND JOBS IN THE REGION.
THE MAY SERVICE CHANGES IMPROVEMENTS WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN OPPORTUNITIES FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE BUS OPERATORS.

IN APRIL OF 2025, WE IMPLEMENTED 6.5% OF THE BETTER BUS PLAN, WHICH INCLUDED FREQUENCY IMPROVEMENTS ON THREE WEEKDAY ROUTES AND TWO WEEKEND ROUTES.
